Wilfrid Laurier University Special Constable Service personnel are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays.  Special Constables will respond to all calls for service and are dispatched on a priority basis through our office located in the Student Services Building across from the Dining Hall.   Administration offices are located at 232 King Street N.  If you require assistance or wish to report a crime, please call our Communication Centre at (519) 885-3333 or internally at extension 3333.  All payphones on campus allow for a free call to our office, or you may use an emergency pole located throughout campus if you require immediate emergency assistance.

Our Brantford office is located at 45 Market Street in Brantford and they can be reached by dialing 5333

Wilfrid Laurier University Special Constable Service is committed to:

  • The prevention of crime, education, customer service, encouraging partnerships and the protection of rights which will enhance the quality of life for our students, faculty, staff and visitors.
  • Using the Neighbourhood Policing Model to solve and prevent crime through education and the formation of partnerships to make Wilfrid Laurier a safer place to learn, live and work

James Yuhasz, Special Constable Service Born and raised in Brantford, James has seen the downtown core go through many changes over the years. With its continued growth, Laurier Brantford has put back energy and hope for a vibrant future in our community. Having the opportunity to be a part of Community Safety & Security from inception is an exciting and challenging position. James has gained valuable experience in various aspects of security through employment in the Security Department at the Flamboro Casino and as a Correctional Officer at the Brantford Jail. Being new to the University setting, James is looking forward to learning as much as possible from students, faculty, staff and visitors to try and meet their specific security needs. Please don’t hesitate to drop by the Community Safety and Security office located in the Odeon Building, send an email or pick up the phone. James looks forward to meeting all the members of our community in the coming year and becoming a part of Laurier Brantford.
