Nomination for Staff Representative on the Board of Governors
One administrative staff representative position on the Board of Governors is up for election this year.
Nominations are now being accepted for this position.
Please complete the nomination form by 4:30 p.m. on March 26, 2014. The University Secretariat will confirm receipt of nominations with the contact information provided. If more than one nomination is received, the Secretariat will hold an election.
Candidates must be full or part-time Laurier or Waterloo Lutheran Seminary staff employees who have completed their probationary period by March 26, 2014, and be nominated by 2 other staff employees who are eligible to vote.
For this March 2014 election, members of Management Group are not eligible* to be nominated.
*University Policy 14.3, Election of Administrative Staff to the Board of Governors, ensures broad representation of the University’s administrative staff by stipulating that the two staff positions shall not be occupied concurrently by two members of the same employee group. One current staff term is filled by a member of Management Group; therefore, only nominations of candidates from other employee groups will be accepted.
Members of Management Group are eligible to vote in this election and will receive a ballot.
As noted in the Nominations form, candidates must provide a brief personal statement (100 words max).
More details concerning voting will be available when the candidates are announced. Voting will take place from April 2, 2014 through to 4:30 p.m. on April 8, 2014. Additional information on Laurier's Board of Governors may be found on the University Secretariat website at: www.wlu.ca/board
