MCWorkshop.pngMultiple-choice tests are the most widely used form of objective assessment in university settings, but using them effectively is not always a simple matter. Because writing high-quality items requires some expertise, we will consider guidelines that can make the task much easier. In addition, we will consider how to construct multiple-choice items that are culturally sensitive and that assess cognitive skills at multiple levels (i.e., not just rote memory). This workshop is designed to provide instructors with very practical tips that they can start using immediately in their everyday teaching. Participants are encouraged to bring along sample multiple-choice items on which they would like feedback.
