Spend the day at Waterloo Lutheran Seminary with Brother Emile, a Canadian who has been part of the Taizé community for many years. In the morning Brother Emile will lead a conversation that will include telling the story of Taizé and reflecting on the community's present work, in particular with the Holy Land and First Nations. Later in the day he will talk about the Taizé music as examples of the repertoire are sung, and in the evening he will participate in the meditative Taizé-style Prayer Service. All are welcome to these public events.
The Taizé Community in France is made up of over a hundred Christian brothers coming from around thirty nations. The community wants its life to be a sign of reconciliation between divided Christians and between separated peoples. In particular, Taizé has a ministry to young adults who come from every continent to take part in weekly meetings.
