Laurier provides its own food service operation catering to residence and non-residence students, offering nutritional meals with the flexibility and freedom of individual choice, including a wide variety of snack items.
New for 2011, all students living in university residence must purchase a meal plan. Plan A-C are required for students in a dormitory style building and students living in residence with kitchens (apartment style) must purchase Plan D. Students who live off-campus may wish to purchase a small meal plan or consider a value plan.
The required meal plan is divided into three parts. Prime dollars can only be used at any locations operated by WLU including the Fresh Food Company,Starbucks, Tim Horton's kiosks, Library Cafe and either the Waterloo College Hall and King Street Residence operations. Alternative dollars; can be used at any on campus location listed above as well as The Terrace food court (including Harvey's, Mr. Sub, Pizza Pizza, The Union Market, The Pita Shack and Williams) and Wilf's.Flex Food dollars will be accepted at a variety of off campus partners as well as any location on campus. By agreement between Wilfrid Laurier University and the Wilfrid Laurier University Students' Union, all residence students participating in meal plans will pay a 5 percent levy to assist in the payment for capital upgrades to Food Service Operations.
