The Student Leadership Centre (SLC) supports all aspects of student leader development, student involvement and leadership experiences on campus. The SLC is guided by the philosophy that leadership is about action, not position, and that all students have the capacity to make meaningful contributions during their university career and beyond.
Leadership Workshops and Certificate Programs
The SLC currently offers three leadership certificate programs for all students interested in developing and honing their leadership skills. Consultations and customized leadership workshops to meet the growing needs of student leaders on campus are also offered.
A Co-Curricular Record (CCR), an institutionally recognized chronicle of student engagement and leadership involvement is offered to students. This important tool recognizes and documents the impact of student leadership involvement for each student's experience at Laurier.
Leadership Resource Library
Resources are available to help students assess and develop leadership skills, find ideas for ice-breakers, team builders, and many more leadership topics including conflict mediation, motivation, project management and team dynamics.
The success of the Student Leadership Centre depends on the contributions and programming by the volunteer Leadership Mentors who provide guidance, inspiration and coaching to students interested in leadership. Leadership Mentors are responsible for the creation and delivery of all workshops and special initiatives fostering excellence in leadership on campus.
