The School of Business & Economics (SBE) is comprised of the Department of Business and the Department of Economics, a partnership which is traditional at Wilfrid Laurier University. The School of Business & Economics believes that the combination of the two disciplines in a single administrative unit adds greatly to the quality and flexibility of all graduates at the school.
The Department of Business offers a four-year Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program leading to careers in accounting (CA, CMA, CGA), finance, marketing, operations and supply chain management and human resources. New concentration paths are available with the BBA program in nine areas of study: accounting, brand communication, entrepreneurship, finance, financial planning, insurance and risk management, marketing, human resource and supply chain management.
The double degree honours programs in Business and Computer Science or Computing and Computer Electronics (BBA/BSc), as well as a joint double degree program is available, combining the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and the Honours Bachelor of Mathematics program from the University of Waterloo. This program offers a unique educational experience for students in the field of business and the mathematical sciences.
Department of Economics offers four-year Honours BA programs in
Economics, Economics and Accounting, Economics and Financial Management, Applied Economics and the cross-faculty PPE
program in Philosophy, Political Science & Economics. Joint Honours
Economics programs with other honours disciplines in the faculties of
Arts or Science are also available.
Co-operative Education Option of the BBA and the Honours BA Economics
programs, by an alternating sequence of work and study terms, provides
students with 12 months of practical work experience during their
academic career. Students in the double degree programs obtain from 12 to 16 months of practical work experience.
The School of Business & Economics offers a variety of courses in the evening to individuals who wish to enhance their business or professional careers.
